ECO-RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTS
We are increasingly concerned about the environment and are looking for products that respect the planet. So brands have to adapt.
However, it is very important to note that 0.5% to 1.5% of the planet's GHG emissions are caused by the cosmetics sector, taking into account its design, the traceability of its ingredients, its transport, its use and its end-of-life.
It was at this point that Masaison embarked on a complete and transparent environmental approach, and succeeded in setting itself apart by offering quality products that respect the environment:
- Natural and organic ingredients from local suppliers, respecting the seasons
- Limitation of chemical components
- Low environmental impact
- Manufacturing conditions that respect workers
- A limited list of quality ingredients to guarantee the effectiveness of our products.
ECO-DESIGN & ECO-RESPONSIBILITY
Eco-design involves the design and development of products that respect the environment right from the design stage. This involves considering the entire life cycle of the product, from the production of raw materials to the end of its life. The aim is to minimise the product's environmental impact while ensuring that its performance and quality are equivalent to or even better than those of conventional products.

Eco-responsibility encompasses all the actions taken by a company to minimise its overall environmental impact, including its production activities, but also its strategic choices and its communication with consumers. In the field of cosmetics, this can include eco-responsible practices such as the use of biodegradable packaging, the implementation of recycling programmes or the adoption of policies in favour of organic farming.
We'd like to share a few key points with you:
- It is important to limit the list of ingredients as much as possible and to use natural and organic ingredients from renewable and sustainable sources.
- It is essential to reduce the environmental impact of packaging by using biodegradable, recycled or reusable materials. Packaging should be designed to minimise waste and avoid excessive use of plastic.
- Production methods must be designed to minimise the use of energy, water and raw materials. Processes must be designed to minimise waste production and maximise the use of renewable resources.
- Cosmetics need to be transported efficiently, minimising their carbon footprint. It is important to use sustainable means of transport and to limit transport distances.
- Cosmetics must be certified for their environmental impact and sustainability. Certifications such as Bio, Ecocert, Cosmebio and Nature et Progrès guarantee that products are manufactured with respect for the environment and workers.
- Products must be designed to be sustainable, so as to minimise their environmental impact throughout their life cycle. This means that they must be designed to be reusable, recyclable or compostable at the end of their life.
In short, the eco-design and eco-responsibility of cosmetic products are becoming increasingly important as we become more aware of the impact of our choices on the planet. Companies that are taking steps to reduce their environmental impact, like Masaison, are playing a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable economy.
