HOW TO FIND OUT ABOUT MY SKIN TYPE ? HERE'S ALL OUR ADVICE!

Come on, not us... We know that the vast majority of you have already found yourselves completely lost in front of the cosmetics aisle, not knowing where to turn. Between normal, dry, combination, oily and many other skin types, it's not so easy to find your way around, is it? It's vital to know your skin type so you can choose skincare products that are tailored to your needs. Here are our little tips to make this a thing of the past!

DIFFERENT SKIN TYPES :

NORMAL TO COMBINATION SKIN (JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT) :

We could call it perfect skin! If your skin is soft and smooth, neither too oily nor too dry, with few imperfections, an even complexion and is not sensitive, then you're one of the lucky ones with normal to combination skin. Your skin is therefore balanced, with no particular discomfort, but with a tendency to shine in your T-zone (forehead, nose and chin), making it oilier than the rest of your face.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Even if it requires less maintenance than other skin types, it is still necessary to cleanse it well (avoid soap, which will unbalance the natural pH of your epidermis) and moisturise it. Avoid creams with too rich a texture. Finally, do a little exfoliation and mask once or twice a week and you're done.

But be careful! On the other hand, your skin can be subjected to a number of external factors linked to the season or, in particular, hormonal changes. So take precautions.

Our little tip:

For your beauty mask, use different types of mask on your face, such as a mattifying one on your T and a nourishing, soothing one on the rest of your face.

DRY SKIN: (SEBUM WHERE ARE YOU?)

Paw paw!!! Beware of external attacks due to a lack of sebum, which prevents your skin from maintaining a good level of hydration. Yes, hydration is essential to ensure that your skin's barrier function (hydrolipidic film) doesn't lose its strength. If your skin feels tight, red, flaky and rough, look no further! You do indeed have dry skin.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

To solve this problem, you'll need to opt for nourishing products with creamy, rich textures. Grain-free or gentle scrubs are preferable. When it comes to moisturising masks, go for once a week.

Our little tip:

Sweet almond oil will be your best ally against skin dryness!

Just as it works on a baby's dry skin, it's just as effective on adult skin. You can apply it daily to your skin, day and night. Don't worry, this oil doesn't leave a greasy film.

OILY SKIN: (IN EXCESS)

Always more, right? Yes, oily skin produces excess sebum (produced by the sebaceous glands), which is why your skin shines, blemishes appear, your pores are dilated, your complexion is dull and to top it all off your make-up doesn't last! It's often the result of hormonal imbalances or a diet rich in dairy products or fast sugars. Many other factors can also come into play: stress, heat, fatigue... All this wonderful mixture will force your skin to over-produce sebum.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A quick splash of water and you're done! On a more serious note, this requires special attention. You'll need to avoid oils, which are often too rich, and go for much more watery, light textures that won't leave you with an oily film. Finally, a little exfoliation and a mask at least twice a week will do the trick. Be careful, though, not to use products that are too harsh, so as not to force your skin to act up and over-produce sebum to protect itself.

Our little tip:

Think lavender essential oil! It's an excellent ally in the fight against oily skin. It both heals and helps pimples to disappear. For daily use, simply add a drop to your day and/or night cream, or one or two drops to your weekly mask.
